Learning the Tarot is much more than just memorizing the interpretive meanings of each card. The Tarot is a visual and symbolic tool, so while intellectualizing the knowledge is important, it is but one step. Meditation upon the images as a whole, while reflecting on the intellectual information is the trick to it.
It’s exciting to open up new cards for the first time! Start by going through the deck and really look at the images. It’s a great idea to
have JewelBox™ Tarot -The Story of Flow handy so you can start reading the meanings of the ones that resonate with you. The first day with a new deck is a lazy day. No need to feel like you have to read all the interpretations at once. Just the ones that you are drawn to reading.
You can practice asking a question, shuffling and spreading out your deck. For now, just choose 1 card as an answer to your question. Read the interpretation and write both your question and conclusions down in your Tarot Journal. Be sure to note down any feelings or impressions you might have as well.
