The JewelBox™ Tarot Deck
I created The JewelBox™ Tarot Deck and modelled it from the Rider-Waite-Smith Deck. It is available in both Classic and Annotated versions, with the Professional and Beginner in mind.
The Annotated Deck is a practice deck. It is designed to be used in conjunction with both of my books.
JewelBox Tarot – Story of Flow and;
JewelBox Tarot – Natures of Time
The Annotated Deck has additional printed information above and below the cards name. Helpful reminders while learning! This information is as follows:
Numerology, indicating the cards drive or motivation (above name).
Stage of manifestation – Tetagrammation – Yod, Heh, Vau, Hehf/Yod (above right)
Basic astrological nature (below name)
Dates (below name)
The Classic Deck is for professional readers, and all those who are already in the know! Trot™ – Art and Symbolism
I have two passions in my life – the Tarot and Art. Both have been an integral part of my life personally and professionally for over 25 years, so far. Through both of these mediums I have learned much about myself and what makes up life.
My writings about the Tarot are a culmination of lots of learning, study and practice. While my books are built upon the ancient texts; they contain only my truths about the Tarot – my jewels. I felt my Tarot writings were not complete until I had painted my own images. Each one is its own jewel in the box.
The card images are based upon the classic Rider-Waite -Smith deck and contain much of its symbolism’s. However, I have added colour to the mix.
Mars Red
Sun Yellow/Orange
Venus Magenta
Mercury Yellow
Moon Purple/Blue
Saturn White/Green/Blue
Jupiter Orange
This is consistent throughout the deck. However, sometimes red just means energy and drive…
The Suits are all presented with individual colour palettes, which make differentiation between them quite apparent.
In addition, the Minor Arcana cards each have individually hand painted borders that group each three decans together according to zodiac sign. Each suits border contains a different flower/tree, all of which are individually highlighted by the colour assigned to their planetary ruler. Planet in sign – in colour.
The Court Cards are colored with their elemental energy blends and also depict the flower/tree of their suit. The Wands suit is represented by Daisies, which traditionally stand for innocence and bode well for the suit of Spirit. The Cups are represented by Roses, which traditionally mean love and signify emotional passions. They are apt for the suit governing emotion. The Swords are represented by Lilies, which are a sign of purity. The Lily has long been held as a sign of the intellect, and are often used in funeral bouquets, making them an appropriate flower for the trials found within Swords suit. The Pentacles are represented by the Tree of Life, which in the Qabalah is a mystical symbol leading the way to God. Its roots and branches are representative of creations map. It demonstrates the axiom of What is above is below. I think appropriate for the depiction of the suit of manifestation.
