I have two passions in my life – Tarot and Art. Both have been an integral part of my life personally and professionally for over 30 years, so far. Through both of these mediums I have learned much about myself and what makes up life.
Since leaving school, when I was 15, I have been teaching myself all about everything. I’m a self-taught Artist. I’ve spent the last 30 years drawing and painting. I held a Drawing position at Kentlyn Art Studio for a long time. In this role I was employed to “draw for people.” I’d draw what the client wanted to paint, and then I’d help them paint all the tricky bits. In my next role, I ran Community Classes teaching others drawing, painting, and how to find themselves through creative exploration.
I write books! My first book I wrote in 1996. I had just moved interstate and was feeling very lost and very alone. I endeavoured to write out a lot of my philosophical learnings in an attempt to find myself. This resulted in a book called Truths. A few years after this I wrote, and illustrated, a children’s book called, Mozart Finds Home, which was fun. Even though, I did not publish my early works, I think these endeavours were good practice for me. They definitely saw writing become a big part of my everyday expression. Currently, I’m in the process of writing my sixth book Divinely Guided.
The Tarot has captivated me for most of my adult life. I read professionally for many years on www.psychic.com.au under the name Gem. My writings about Tarot are a culmination of lots of study, and practice. For years, I immersed myself in the old Golden Dawn classic texts. I put the information into practice during my readings for others. During this time, I felt as though the Tarot itself was reaching out to me. I started writing everything down in 2011.
Soon after I began writing, I felt driven to paint my own images. I painted 120 artworks in the course of this process which took me a little over one year. The painting of my own deck seemed to heighten my connection to the Tarot even more.
Over the course of time, since I began what has now become the JewelBox Tarot Collection, I have felt as though the Tarot itself, has ultimately taught me how to read the cards! I ask the Tarot to help me with everything in my life. Seriously, it even helps me choose what to wear to a party. Sometimes, I just laugh at how it describes things to me!
The JewelBox Tarot Collection will be coming soon, with the exciting new addition of JewelBox Tarot – Card Night! all ready to go out into the world. To celebrate the launch of JBT –Card Night! the first two books in the series, JBT – Story of Flow and JBT – Natures of Time have been completely revised, and updated with lots of additional information. These new editions will also be released in the near future along with a beautiful Collector’s edition of the JewelBox Tarot Deck.
I am in the process of finding myself a good Literary Agent. Hopefully with the right person’s help, I will be able to get my books and decks published. Fingers crossed!

JewelBox Star Cluster
NGC 4755, The Kappa Crucis Cluster or “Jewel Box” Cluster
Discovered by Nicolas Louis de Lacaille (1751-52)
Just bright enough to be seen from Earth with the naked eye, the Jewel Box was given its name by English astronomer John Herschel in the 1830’s, who thought the sparkling blue and red stars resembled a box of jewels. Like most open star clusters, the Jewel Box is made up of an array of sister stars, all formed from the same cloud of gas and dust with similar ages and chemical make-up. Located about 6,400 light-years away, near the Southern Cross in the constellation of Crux, the Jewel Box contains roughly 100 stars.
